About Luminary

Luminary is Refractive Entertainment’s OpenZone action RPG for solo play or drop-in, drop-out co-op with up to three players. You explore hand-crafted land, uncover treasures, rebuild a town and push back darkness with light.

Combat is real-time: melee, ranged, magic, blocking and dodging, with a quick swap between weapon types — sword and shield, and bow at the start of Early Access. A character creator covers six fantasy races plus hair, beards and makeup. Progression on a character carries between your solo game and friends’ sessions. Townspeople you save can rebuild; Blacksmith, Armorer, Arcanist and Chef level up to sell and craft better gear. Mining, fishing and animal catching sit beside camp assaults and tower liberation. Climb, swim and glide through the OpenZone. Town upgrades persist into New Game+. Centuries ago a primal magic surged and twisted the world; radiant energy lives in warriors called Luminaries, who must pass that light on. Refractive Entertainment is a two-person studio. Steam Early Access began 11 August 2026, with about a year planned toward version 1.0.
