The Legend of Zelda games: courage, wisdom and power
Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka created The Legend of Zelda for Nintendo in 1986, inspired by childhood explorations of fields and caves. Link, Princess Zelda and the villain Ganon, connected through the Triforce, have returned in many forms since.
Landmarks of game design
Ocarina of Time set the template for 3D action adventures in 1998, while Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom reinvented the series with physics-driven open worlds where almost any idea can be a solution. Dungeons, puzzles and new items to master remain at its heart.
