The Witcher games are based on the books of Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. CD Projekt Red, a studio from Warsaw, released the first game in 2007 and followed it with The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings in 2011 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in 2015.
A monster hunter in a grey world
You play Geralt of Rivia, a witcher trained to hunt monsters for coin. The series is known for quests where there is rarely a clean answer, for Slavic folklore creatures and for side stories that are as carefully written as the main plot. Wild Hunt and its expansions Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine are often listed among the best role-playing games ever made, and the card game Gwent became popular enough to get its own release.
If you like story-driven RPGs with choices that come back later, The Witcher game keys are an easy recommendation.
