Ara Fell: Enhanced Edition is a classic fantasy role-playing game from Stegosoft Games, published by DANGEN Entertainment. It first launched in 2016, and the Enhanced Edition is the official title of the current version, which bundles a long list of improvements into the base game. It blends the best of Japanese-style RPGs with western role-playing and elements of visual novels and adventure games.
The story takes place in Ara Fell, a land of floating islands drifting high above the clouds. You follow Lita, a spirited young woman from Aloria Village who stumbles into an ancient curse and a vampire menace that threatens her homeland. Along the way she gathers companions, each with a past, desires and motivations of their own, and friends and villains alike turn out to be very different from how they first appear.
Exploration sits at the heart of the adventure. You can jump, crawl, swim and even fly to solve puzzles and discover hidden treasure, secrets and side quests. Most of the world is open from the moment you leave Aloria, so a clever explorer can find powerful equipment early if strong enough to survive. Turn-based battles reward careful equipment choices and tactics tailored to each boss.
The Enhanced Edition adds a revamped battle system, new character classes and skills, extra side quests, an overhauled interface, upgraded crafting, a new enchanting system, new difficulty modes and an autosave feature. Charming pixel art, a warm soundtrack and plenty of humour bring the world to life. It is rated 12 for fantasy violence, mild language and scary moments.
