Beat Slayer is a roguelite hack and slash in which the music takes centre stage. You play Mia, a music lover and crafty tinkerer, battling hordes of robots in a dystopian, 90s-inspired Berlin. There is one rule: every move must match the rhythm of the soundtrack, so smooth, skilful timing beats button mashing. Dash, attack to build your drive bar, spread status effects or kick enemies into walls and each other. Each run changes with your starting weapon, chosen upgrades and growing skill set, while a team of rebels helps with weapons and upgrades as you move from underground bunkers to rooftops. Headphones are recommended.
