About Cursed to Golf
Cursed to Golf is a challenging golf-like adventure where every shot counts, developed by Chuhai Labs and published by Thunderful Publishing. You play as The Cursed Golfer, trapped in Golf Purgatory after a freak accident takes you out just as you are about to take the winning shot of an international tournament. Legend says that playing through the devious courses across Golf Purgatory will get you back to the land of the living and, more importantly, to the trophy you were about to win. Each course is governed by a ghostly Legendary Caddie, who tutors you in the mystical ways of golf to aid your quest for redemption and revival.
The game offers a fresh take on the golfing and roguelike subgenres. You have to make your way through each hole within the Par Count, or your curse takes you back to the beginning of the course. To add to the challenge, these side-scrolling courses do not just have bunkers and rough spots, they are also full of mad obstacles such as high-powered fans, spikes, TNT boxes, teleporters and much more. Dungeon-like holes ask you to judge power, angle and bounce with care, while the randomly ordered course across four biomes, from dark castle grounds to sun-baked deserts, keeps every attempt fresh. It is all par for the course in this twisted take on a classic sport.
Being cursed to play golf for eternity has its benefits, too. Use Birdie-Eye to view the whole course and see what trials lie ahead before you swing. When your Par Count runs low, look for the gold and silver Shot Idols peppered throughout the holes, because smashing through them with a cinematic flourish replenishes your shots. Ace Cards turn the odds back in your favour by channelling otherworldly powers that manipulate the game in incredible ways. Scattershot, U-Turn, Rocketball and Mulligans are just some of the more than 20 unique cards you can keep up your sleeve to turn the tide when a shot goes wrong.
With 70 holes to experience, Cursed to Golf will keep you swinging for a long time, and its bright pixel art brings the golf-themed world and quirky characters of Golf Purgatory to life. Every run teaches you more about the hazards, the cards and the best routes, so skill and smart planning slowly pay off. The game supports English (with full audio), German, French, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese and runs on Windows. Cursed to Golf is a fine choice for anyone who enjoys roguelikes, precise physics puzzles and a good dose of humour, as well as for golf fans who want something far more surprising than a normal round on the green.
