Trine game keys: three heroes, one fairytale puzzle
Trine is a fantasy puzzle-platformer series from Finnish studio Frozenbyte, which began in 2009. A magical artefact binds three unlikely heroes together: Amadeus the wizard, Pontius the knight and Zoya the thief.
Each hero has unique abilities. Amadeus conjures and levitates objects, Pontius fights and blocks with his shield, and Zoya fires arrows and swings on her grappling hook. You switch between them, or play together in co-op, solving physics-based puzzles that often have more than one solution. Lush, painterly worlds and gentle storytelling define the series, which continued with Trine 2, Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power, Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince and Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy (2023).
