About Resident Evil 4 / Biohazard 4 (2005)

Resident Evil 4 (2005), also known as Biohazard 4, is a third-person survival horror action game developed and published by Capcom. This HD version of the original arrived on Steam on 27 February 2014.

Special agent Leon S. Kennedy is sent to a remote village in Europe to rescue the US President’s kidnapped daughter, Ashley. Instead of slow zombies he faces villagers infected by a parasite called Las Plagas and controlled by the cult Los Illuminados. The over-the-shoulder camera, precise aiming and limited ammunition made the game a landmark of the genre. This edition runs in HD at a smooth 60 frames per second with sharper textures, widescreen support and native keyboard and mouse controls.

Why Buy This Game?

Resident Evil 4 (2005) is one of the most influential action games ever made, and this version lets you play it on modern PCs with smoother performance. The pacing still holds up, each area introduces a new threat, and the mix of horror and shooting stays tense from the village to the island. It runs on almost any system and is the original that the later remake is built on.

Leon’s mission to the Spanish countryside was rebuilt from the ground up in Resident Evil 4, which keeps the story beats but adds modern visuals, parrying and a reworked campaign. For the slower, puzzle-heavy roots of the series, Resident Evil / Biohazard HD REMASTER returns to the Spencer Mansion with fixed camera angles and scarce supplies. Fans of tense over-the-shoulder combat against grotesque enemies should try Dead Space (2008), where Isaac Clarke dismembers Necromorphs aboard a derelict mining ship.
