Third-person shooter game keys: see your hero in action
Third-person shooters put the camera behind your character's shoulder, so you see both the hero and the battlefield. That view makes movement, cover and animation part of the action.
Max Payne popularised slow-motion "bullet time" in 2001, and Gears of War (2006) defined the cover-based shooter with its stop-and-pop rhythm. Since then the style has spread everywhere, from Uncharted-style adventures and Mass Effect's RPG battles to co-op horde modes and looter shooters like The Division and Warframe.
What to look for
Consider whether you want a story campaign, co-op with friends or competitive play. Third-person shooter game keys cover all of these with plenty of variety.
