About No Man's Sky

No Man's Sky is a game about exploration and survival in an infinite procedurally generated universe, developed and published by Hello Games and released on 12 August 2016. Inspired by the adventure and imagination of classic science fiction, it presents a galaxy filled with unique planets and lifeforms, along with constant danger and action. Every star you see is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets full of life, and you can travel to any of them you choose. You fly smoothly from deep space down to planetary surfaces with no loading screens and no limits, discovering places and creatures that other players may never see.

At the centre of the galaxy lies an irresistible pulse that draws you on a journey toward it to learn the true nature of the cosmos. The road there is not safe. Hostile creatures and fierce pirates stand in your way, death comes at a cost, and survival depends on the choices you make about upgrading your ship, your weapon and your exosuit. Strengthening the suit lets you survive toxic environments that would kill the unwary, while better engines let you jump ever farther between star systems. Gathering resources, crafting technology and learning to handle each new world are central to every step of the voyage.

Your path through the universe is entirely up to you. You can become a fighter, preying on the weak or hunting pirates for their bounties, and upgrade your ship for speed and firepower. You can be a trader who finds rich resources on forgotten worlds, invests in cargo space and sells for the highest prices. Or you can be an explorer who goes beyond the known frontier. The galaxy feels alive: trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary and the police are ever watching. Every player shares the same galaxy, and you can upload your discoveries to a map that spans known space.

Over the years the game has grown enormously through free updates, and this version includes all major ones since launch, from Foundation, NEXT and BEYOND through Origins, Frontiers, Waypoint, Worlds and Voyagers up to COSMOS. No Man's Sky can be played alone or with friends in online co-op and multiplayer, supports cross-play and cross-save across a large number of platforms, and offers VR support. GOG lists achievements, cloud saves and controller support. If you dream of setting off into the unknown, building, trading and surviving among the stars on your own terms, this is one of the most expansive space adventures available.
