About URBO
URBO is a relaxing city-building puzzle game developed and published by the independent studio Door 407. It was released for Windows on 13 September 2023 and invites you to design small, beautiful towns on floating islands. There is no money to manage and no disasters to fear: the challenge comes from placing each building in the right spot so that your settlement can keep growing.
The core idea is simple. You place houses on the free tiles of an island, and buildings next to each other merge and grow into larger homes, then into even bigger structures. Every placement affects the neighbouring tiles, so planning ahead matters. When an island is full, a new one appears, and you continue until the level is complete. The puzzles evoke mathematically precise riddles and reward elegant solutions more than speed.
The levels take you through many different settings: futuristic cities floating in open space, a capital hidden in a desert canyon, peaceful quarters of a small fishing village and green terraced towns. Minimalist visuals, smooth animations and calm music create a meditative pace, and you can stop and return whenever you like. Full controller support and cloud saves are available. Achievements mark your progress, and later levels introduce tighter islands and new building types that demand more careful thinking before every move.
URBO also supports virtual reality as an option: with an OpenXR headset and motion controllers you can look at your islands up close and build them by hand, while the regular mode works with mouse or gamepad. The game contains no violence and is suitable for all ages. It is rated 0 (Germany 0).
