The Career mode puts you in the spotlight. Under the guidance of an icon of the sport, all eyes are on you to become the new star of an amplified world of off-road racing. You earn sponsorships and unique rewards, conquer every location and take on a fierce rival in what Codemasters calls its biggest Career yet. Local split-screen for up to four players works in offline modes, including the Career, which makes it easy to race side by side on the sofa.

Creative tools round out the package. A detailed Photo Mode lets you capture your biggest jumps and best moves, and the livery editor is described as the deepest in the history of the series, available for every car. Further modes let players create their own events and race against objectives as well as opponents. Racing events for up to 12 players and curated playlists are also part of the game for those who want to measure themselves against others.

DIRT 5 supports full controller play, achievements, cloud saves and Remote Play Together. Text and full audio are available in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese. It is rated USK 12 in Germany, PEGI 12 and T by the ESRB, so it suits teenagers and adults who enjoy accessible yet spectacular racing with plenty of mud, snow and air time.
