About Steelrising
Steelrising is an action-RPG developed by Spiders and published by Nacon in 2022. It takes place in 1789, in an alternate version of the French Revolution where King Louis XVI has crushed the uprising with an army of terrifying mechanical soldiers. Paris is burning, the streets are patrolled by deadly machines, and the people are paying a terrible price. You play as Aegis, an elegant automaton created by the inventor Vaucanson to serve as the bodyguard of Queen Marie-Antoinette. Sent out on a secret mission, she must uncover the truth behind the king's madness and change the course of history.
Combat is demanding and rewards patience, timing and careful use of stamina. Each weapon has its own moves and special abilities, and enemies range from small soldiers to huge automatons that tower over the rooftops. You can shape Aegis into the role you prefer, focusing on raw strength as a warrior, solid defense as a bodyguard, speed and agility as a dancer, or elemental arts that freeze, burn or electrify your foes. Defeated enemies leave behind resources to spend on upgrades, and an optional assist mode can make the challenge more forgiving for players who simply want to enjoy the story.
Exploration plays a big role. Aegis gains a grappling hook, a dash and other tools that open up new paths, and the districts of Paris are full of shortcuts, hidden areas and secrets to discover.
