About Shadow of the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition
Shadow of the Tomb Raider Definitive Edition is the complete release of Lara Croft’s defining moment, developed by Eidos-Montréal with Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix. On the store it is the standard version of the game, so this key delivers the full base adventure together with all seven DLC challenge tombs, plus the extra weapons, outfits and skills that were released after launch.
The story takes Lara from a festival in Mexico into the dense jungles of Peru. A rash decision triggers an ancient Maya apocalypse, and she must race against the paramilitary organisation Trinity to stop it. Along the way she discovers Paititi, a vast hidden city full of people, side quests, merchants and secrets, which acts as the living heart of the journey.
Gameplay blends exploration, climbing, puzzle solving and combat. Lara can rappel down cliffs, swim through flooded caves, cover herself in mud to blend into walls and strike from the foliage like a predator. Optional challenge tombs are the highlight: large environmental puzzles built around water, wind, light and heavy machinery, each rewarding you with new skills and gear.
Difficulty can be tuned separately for combat, exploration and puzzles, so you can enjoy a tense survival experience or a relaxed tour of the ruins. The Definitive Edition adds a further seven tombs, each with its own mini story, which significantly extends the campaign for anyone who wants more of the series’ signature puzzle design.
