About Thief Gold
Thief Gold is a classic stealth game developed by Looking Glass Studios and published by Eidos Interactive Corporation. You journey through the night as Garrett, a master thief cloaked in the darkness of a sinister medieval realm where shadows are your only ally and trust is never an option. Stalking your prey on the quest for stolen goods, you steal for money and slowly uncover the hidden agendas of allies and enemies alike in an unravelling story of deception and revenge. Pioneering stealth-based gameplay gave first-person action a new dimension, and it still feels distinctive today.
This package includes Thief: The Dark Project with its 12 huge missions across multiple environments, together with the Gold update. The Gold content adds three new campaign missions that deepen the plot and introduce five new types of enemies. You steal from the Downwind thieves in the Thieves' Guild, enter a ruined city in the Mage's Guild and go in search of the stolen Talisman of Air, guided by the ravings of a lunatic hermit, in the Song of the Caverns. Altogether, that gives you fifteen missions to plan, scout and sneak through.
The guards you face are advanced for their era: they can see, hear, speak and sound alarms, so careless noise or a lit doorway can bring very grim results. Your arsenal helps you stay hidden. A blackjack quietly takes out unsuspecting opponents, a sword covers emergencies, and an assortment of unique arrows changes how you approach each room. Water arrows douse torches, rope arrows open new routes upward, and fire arrows cause some mayhem when stealth fails. Tracking prey through the shadows of a sleeping city remains the heart of the experience.
