About Outbound
Outbound is a cozy open-world exploration and building game developed and published by the independent studio Square Glade Games. Released on 11 May 2026 for Windows, it is set in a bright, hopeful near future where clean energy shapes everyday life. You begin with an empty electric camper van and slowly turn it into the travelling home of your dreams. There is no rush and no harsh punishment: the game invites you to drive, collect, build and decorate at your own pace, alone or together with friends in online co-op for up to four players.
The building system is modular and flexible. You gather wood, stone, metal and other materials while exploring, then craft workstations and parts that snap onto and inside your vehicle. Walls, roofs, decks, stairs and whole extra floors can be stacked on top, so a simple van can grow into a two-storey greenhouse, a rooftop garden or a cosy cabin with a view. Paint, furniture and decorations let you style every corner. Progress through the technology tree unlocks better tools, larger structures and more efficient machines.
Energy is a central part of the loop. Your home on wheels runs on renewable power, so you mount solar panels, wind turbines and water generators and manage batteries to keep lights, appliances and crafting stations running. Gardens let you plant vegetables, herbs and mushrooms, and fresh harvests can be cooked into meals that keep you healthy on the road. At the Paws & Whiskers Lodge you can adopt an animal companion to feed, pet and train, and it helps you during your travels.
The world itself is colourful and varied, with forests, lakes, rocky canyons and sunny plains to explore. A travel journal records points of interest and iconic landmarks, encouraging you to take detours and discover new places. Playing together, friends can split the jobs of driving, gathering and building, and the whole convoy shares the adventure. Achievements, cloud saves and full controller support are included, plus helpful accessibility options. The game is rated 12 (USK 6; strictest official rating applied).

Outbound needs a 64-bit version of Windows 10.
