About Armikrog

Armikrog is a unique stop-motion clay animated point-and-click adventure game developed by Pencil Test Studios and published by Versus Evil. It comes from the creators of Earthworm Jim and The Neverhood, and that heritage is visible in every handcrafted scene. You follow the adventures of the space explorer Tommynaut and his blind alien talking dog Beak-Beak. The pair find themselves held captive in a strange fortress, and the only way forward is to unravel its mysteries through careful exploration and puzzle solving, one room at a time.

The visual style is the first thing that sets Armikrog apart. Its world and characters are animated in stop motion using clay, giving the game a tactile, handmade look that is rare in the genre. The loveable characters were designed by Doug TenNapel, the creator of Earthworm Jim, and the game was developed by Ed Schofield and Mike Dietz, two of the creators of The Neverhood. For fans of those classics, Armikrog offers a chance to return to that distinctive, quirky kind of animated adventure with a brand new story.

Sound plays a big part as well. A rich cast of voice talent brings the characters to life, including the well-known actors Jon Heder of Napoleon Dynamite, Rob Paulsen of Pinky and the Brain and Michael J. Nelson of Mystery Science Theater 3000. The original soundtrack was created and recorded by the American songwriter and record producer Terry Scott Taylor. Together, the voices and music give the fortress and its inhabitants a personality that matches the unusual clay visuals and keeps each new discovery interesting while you work through the puzzles.

Armikrog runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. On Windows it needs Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8, a Pentium 4 or better processor, 2 GB of RAM, a DirectX 9.0 graphics card with shader model 2.0 support and 2 GB of storage. On macOS it requires OS X 10.8 or later, and on Linux it supports Ubuntu 14.04 and Linux Mint 17, with Intel HD 2000 Graphics on both. Voice-over is in English, and text is available in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish and Russian.
