About DeathWatchers
DeathWatchers is an indie horror game developed and published by Swain Games, released in Early Access on 12 July 2024 as the sequel to DEATHWATCH. It blends spot-the-difference style observation with ghost hunting, so you use a set of specialised tools to find and log a wide variety of paranormal events while trying your best to avoid aggravating whatever dangerous entities may reside within each location.
Once you have figured out the ingredients needed for the banishing ritual, you build that ritual and try to banish the entity, but be warned that any incorrect ingredient means you may never leave. The cameras are never set up for you, so you buy your own gear, place every piece of equipment, arrange the lighting, watch the feeds through your tablet and take photos to memorise how each room should look.
The threat feels real because you are inside the house and in danger, never just sat behind a screen. Intense moments push you to hide and protect yourself or die, while interactive video tutorials explain each tool along the way. Every game mode can be played solo or with up to three friends, character creation lets you shape your watcher, and the various locations all work with each game mode.
The game runs on Windows. It runs on Windows 7 and supports English with full audio plus French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese and Simplified Chinese. The minimum setup needs a Ryzen 3 1600 processor, 8 GB of RAM, a GeForce GTX 1060 or equivalent graphics card and 6 GB of storage.
