About The Green Light
The Green Light is a first-person horror game created by the independent developer waleedzo and released in 2026. It tells the story of Fred, a man stuck in a dead-end job and trapped in a cycle of dissatisfaction. He hates his work, he hates his boss, and his life feels like one long, constant disappointment. The game places you directly behind his eyes, so the weight of that routine and the loneliness that comes with it are felt from the very first moments of play.
Everything changes one late night during one of his shifts. As Fred drifts through the monotony, a voice on the radio cuts through the silence and offers him something he has longed for: freedom. The voice tells him that his escape is waiting at a distant lighthouse, a beacon whose green light calls out to him from the darkness. With nothing left to lose, Fred decides to follow that promise and leaves the familiar behind to begin a journey into the unknown.
The journey soon turns inward. Fred is haunted by hallucinations, and the road toward the lighthouse forces him to confront the depths of his own mind and the true cost of the freedom he has been offered. The horror here grows from that uncertainty: what Fred sees, what he hears on the radio and what is really waiting for him at the end of the path. It is a personal, single-player story that puts atmosphere and tension ahead of large-scale action.
The GOG version runs on 64-bit Windows 10 and offers text in English, Spanish for Latin America, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian and Simplified Chinese, with partial controller support. Players should note that the game is intended for mature audiences and has an age rating of 16 in Germany. For fans of narrative first-person horror who enjoy slow-burning tension and stories about isolation and escape, The Green Light offers a compact and unsettling journey toward a light that may not be what it seems.
