About The Medium
The Medium is a third-person psychological horror adventure developed and published by Bloober Team and released in January 2021. You are Marianne, a medium haunted by visions she cannot explain, who is drawn to an abandoned communist-era resort to uncover the origins of her powers and solve the mystery that has followed her entire life.
Marianne's gift lets her interact with two worlds simultaneously. The physical realm shows the remnants of what once was, while the spirit world reveals what lies beneath the surface: hidden truths, lingering emotions and horrors born from tragedy. A unique dual-perspective mechanic lets you shift between the realms or navigate both at once, often on a split screen, to uncover secrets invisible to others.
Her medium powers help you manipulate the environment, shield yourself from hostile forces and unleash spirit blasts to break through obstacles or escape deadly entities. The spirit world is a haunting dimension inspired by nightmarish art and distorted memories, full of tormented souls, twisted landscapes and a relentless being that feeds on fear. As you explore abandoned halls, forgotten chambers and the memories left behind, you piece together the origins of the resort and Marianne's own past, solving puzzles that often demand action in both realities at the same moment.
It is a single player game with achievements that runs on Windows and macOS. The Windows version runs on Windows 10 (64-bit) and supports English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Polish, with full English audio.
