Niche blends turn-based strategy and simulation with roguelike elements. You shape your own species of cat-, fox-, bear- and dog-like animals based on real genetics, then try to keep them alive against hungry predators, climate change and spreading sickness. If your species goes extinct, your evolution has to start anew. With over 100 genes, procedurally generated worlds and five biomes full of different predators, prey and plants, every run plays out differently. Along the way the game introduces real genetic concepts such as dominant and recessive inheritance, mutation and natural selection – woven directly into the gameplay.
