About Equilinox

Equilinox is a relaxing nature simulation developed and published by ThinMatrix. Steam release date: 23 November 2018.

You start with a bare patch of land and slowly turn it into a living island. Plant grasses, flowers and trees, introduce animals that need the right food and surroundings, and watch the ecosystem take shape. Breed creatures and plants to evolve new variations with different colours and traits, complete simple tasks to earn points for more species, and shape the terrain as the island grows. There is no time pressure and no enemies, just a calm, colourful garden that keeps getting bigger.

Key Features

  • Grow an island – from bare land to ecosystem.
  • Plants and animals – meet their needs.
  • Evolution – breed new variations.
  • Terrain shaping – rivers, hills, biomes.
  • No pressure – calm, at your own pace.

The calm, no-fail building of Equilinox has a close match in Townscaper, a tiny toy where you click colourful houses onto the water and watch a town arrange itself with no goals at all. ISLANDERS adds just a little more structure: you place buildings on small islands to score points, with the same minimalist look and quiet pace. If the ecosystem side was what you enjoyed, Imagine Earth lets you grow a whole planet, balancing nature, cities and climate, while Jurassic World Evolution 2 hands you dinosaurs instead of sheep and asks you to keep each species happy in its own carefully designed habitat.
