About Into the Breach

Into the Breach is a turn-based tactics game developed and published by Subset Games. Steam release date: 27 February 2018.

The remnants of human civilisation are threatened by gigantic Vek creatures emerging from beneath the earth, and you command powerful mechs sent from the future to hold them off. Every battle takes place on a compact 8x8 grid where the enemies telegraph their attacks, so each turn becomes a puzzle of pushing, blocking and redirecting threats while protecting buildings that power your grid. Squads such as the Rift Walkers or Blitzkrieg each play very differently, and pilots gain skills as they survive. If a timeline is lost, a pilot can be sent back to try again in a new, randomly generated campaign. The free Advanced Edition update adds new mech squads, weapons, enemies, bosses, pilot abilities and an Unfair difficulty.

Key Features

  • Puzzle-like tactics – enemies show their attacks.
  • Many squads – very different mechs.
  • Pilot skills – progress between runs.
  • Random campaigns – fresh islands every time.
  • Advanced Edition – extra squads, foes and modes.
