About They Bleed Pixels

They Bleed Pixels is an action platformer developed and published by Spooky Squid Games. Steam release date: 29 August 2012.

They Bleed Pixels is set at the Lovecraft Academy for Wayward Young Women, where a girl finds a strange book that changes her into a clawed creature each night. In her dreams she has to fight her way through gothic levels full of spikes, saws and monsters. The game blends demanding platforming with a combat system built for one button and a direction, so kicks, launches and juggles flow naturally into combos. Combos have a purpose beyond style: every hit builds points, and when you collect enough you can place a checkpoint wherever you are standing, as long as you are on safe ground. That makes each level a balance between playing it safe and pushing for a bigger combo. The bold pixel art and moody soundtrack create a dark fairy-tale atmosphere, and the difficulty rewards patience and practice.
