About Ale Abbey

Ale Abbey is a monastery brewery tycoon game developed by Hammer & Ravens and published by Shiro Unlimited, with its full release arriving in September 2025 after a period of early access. You take charge of a humble abbey and turn it into the home of the most celebrated brews in the land. Its charming pixel art shows the whole building in cross-section, so you can watch every monk at work, from the library to the deepest cellar, and see your monastery grow floor by floor.

Brewing sits at the heart of the game. Give each brew a unique name, experiment to discover special traits and push your ales to unprecedented popularity. There are more than 20 European styles to learn, and you choose the equipment that best suits your needs. Adjust the quantity, quality and mash temperature to blend the perfect recipe, then decide whether to store it for aging or sell it at the market. Trust in your monks and their brewing skills, and let them create the holy ale that will make the abbey famous.

Above ground you build living quarters for your holy crew, production hubs such as libraries and breweries, and all-purpose spaces including the refectory and the abbot's office. Beneath these heavenly floors lie the cold cellars, the most sacred spaces of all for your brews. Planning room layouts, placing equipment and expanding downwards becomes a satisfying puzzle of its own as orders and output grow. Happy monks need more than a good workplace, and they also expect a steady flow of tasty ales.

Beyond the brewhouse there is a wider world to handle. You appease local lords, befriend neighbouring abbeys and deal with bandit encounters, and a tale of challenges unfolds in a frothy medieval setting. It suits players who enjoy relaxed management, crafting systems and light humour. The game runs on Windows and supports English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Simplified Chinese. Its low hardware requirements also make it a good fit for older laptops.
