About Map Map - A Game About Maps

Map Map - A Game About Maps is a cozy single-player adventure in which you are the one who makes the maps. It was developed by Pipapo Games, published by Pipapo Games and Rekoup, and released for Windows on 28 May 2026. You become the cartographer of a small adventure crew searching for a legendary lost treasure. In your search for clues you travel from island to island and set up camp with your fellow adventurers, who task you with finding different places in the surrounding landscape. Every island begins as an unknown space, and it is your job to turn it into a hand-drawn journey towards the treasure.

The core idea is that mapping is the game. You explore each island, find the locations your crew is looking for and pinpoint them on your map. Real cartography logic sits behind this: you mark landmarks, ruins and secrets as accurately as possible, so careful observation matters more than speed. You choose how to approach each challenge and use observation and creativity to find your own solutions. Quests for the crew lead you to new parts of the landscape, and each completed task brings you closer to the trail of the hidden treasure. The pace is calm and relaxed, designed so you can enjoy the gentle thrill of understanding a place on your own.

Tools are where the cartography becomes tangible. You use and unlock proper navigation instruments to measure your steps, navigate by compass and scan the horizon with telescopes and sextants, triangulating your way across each island. Every new tool you discover opens up many new ways to map an island, so the methods you rely on keep growing as the adventure goes on. Counting paces to measure a distance, taking a bearing on a distant peak or combining two sightlines to fix a position all feel like the work of a real explorer, and the map you produce is a record of how you personally solved each place.

Each island is filled with ancient ruins, wildlife, hidden paths and cozy little details that reward curiosity and careful observation. You orient yourself naturally by reading the landscape, noticing the shape of a coastline or the position of a ruin, and slowly building a picture of the whole island in your head and on paper. The game is rated USK 0, so it suits players of all ages, and it offers full controller support. For anyone who enjoys peaceful exploration, thoughtful puzzles and the satisfaction of drawing something useful with their own hands, it offers a fresh and relaxing idea built around the simple joy of making maps.
