About Jet Kave Adventure
Jet Kave Adventure is a completely historically inaccurate yet highly entertaining 2.5D adventure platformer developed and published by 7Levels and released in January 2021. Your name is Kave, and you are the chief of your tribe, or rather you were until now. Banished by your own people, you stumble upon something no caveman has ever seen: a jetpack. The device turns you into the only caveman who stands a chance against the alien invader, a rather unlikable visitor from the sky who will happily set off a disastrous volcanic eruption just so he can repair his spaceship.
The game calls its setting Stone-Fiction, a world where the Stone Age and science fiction collide. Your quest takes you through 36 colorful levels of side-scrolling landscapes, riddled with hazards and rich with secrets. Mastering the jet-fueled platforming is the core challenge, and it will not be easy with your clumsy caveman movements, so expect to practise. Along the way you smack and whack 30 types of enemies, from prehistoric beasts to imposing bosses, using your trusty bone club, all while learning to combine jumps, dashes and bursts of flight.
Some of the most memorable moments come from the breakneck flight sequences and boss fights. You soar across pitfalls, smash through rocky walls and defeat terrifying enemies using your continuously improving skills. Progress is rewarded too. Back in a time when seashells were the only currency, you collect as many of them as you can and spend them to enhance your strength and upgrade your gear. Exploring the levels thoroughly pays off, because hidden collectibles and secrets are scattered across every stage for players who look beyond the main path.
For a tougher test there is Arcade Mode, an arcade-like experience with a limited number of lives where reaching a checkpoint no longer replenishes your health. Extra lives can only be bought between levels, so losing them all means a good old Game Over. It is tough but fair. Time, Collectible and No Damage Challenges let you chase a high score on the leaderboards, and a set of achievements, some of them odd but all of them fun, adds even more to do. The GOG version runs on Windows and offers six languages. Thaw out your inner caveman and save the island.
