About Hollow Knight
Hollow Knight is a single-player 2D action adventure created by the Australian indie studio Team Cherry and released in February 2017. Beneath the fading town of Dirtmouth sleeps Hallownest, an ancient and ruined kingdom of insects. Many have been drawn below the surface in search of riches, glory or answers to old secrets, and you descend as a small, silent knight with a nail for a sword. What waits in the dark is a vast world full of danger, beauty and quiet sadness.
The kingdom is one huge interconnected map of twisting caverns, forgotten highways, overgrown wilds and ancient cities. Hallownest is open and expansive, so you choose which paths to take, which enemies to face and how to move forward. As you explore you gain new abilities such as spells, a blazing dash and ethereal wings that let you reach higher ledges, and each one opens areas you passed earlier. Extensive mapping tools, from quills and compasses to pins, help you chart every winding passage.
Combat relies on tightly tuned controls that let you dodge, dash and slash through more than 130 enemies and 30 epic bosses. Charms, ancient relics with unusual powers, let you shape your own build, while the Dream Nail lets you leap into minds and uncover another side of the characters you meet. A huge cast of cute and creepy bugs is brought to life with traditional frame-by-frame animation over beautiful painted landscapes, and a haunting score follows you throughout the journey.
Hollow Knight runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. On Windows it needs 64-bit Windows 10, an Intel Core i3-3240 or AMD FX-4300, 4 GB of RAM, a GeForce GTX 560 Ti or Radeon HD 7750 and 9 GB of storage. Text is available in ten languages, including English, German, French, Spanish and Italian. Four free content packs, Hidden Dreams, The Grimm Troupe, Lifeblood and Godmaster, add new bosses, quests and charms, making this one of the richest adventures of its kind.
