About Kaze and the Wild Masks

Kaze and the Wild Masks is a 2D platformer developed by PixelHive and published by SOEDESCO. Steam release date: 26 March 2021.

A curse has turned the vegetables of the Crystal Islands into angry monsters and trapped Kaze's friend Hogo. Inspired by the great platformers of the 90s, the game sends the rabbit-eared heroine through more than 30 levels, from sunny coasts to lava caves and haunted forests. The Wild Masks change how you play: pounce like a tiger, soar like an eagle, sprint like a lizard or swim like a shark. Frame-by-frame pixel art, tight controls and over 50 bonus stages give it a polished, nostalgic feel.

Related Games

Kaze's tight jumps and quick retries owe a lot to Super Meat Boy, the game that made split-second precision platforming popular again and still sets the standard for responsive controls. Celeste takes that same precision into a pixel-art mountain climb, adding a heartfelt story to the challenge. For the 90s mascot energy that Kaze channels so clearly, Sonic Adventure 2 is a classic choice, with speedy 3D stages and multiple characters. And Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy offers a gentler, puzzle-focused take on colourful platforming, where three heroes cooperate to get through each fairy-tale level.
