About Osmos

Osmos is a casual indie game developed and published by Hemisphere Games. Steam release date: 18 August 2009.

Osmos drops you into a dreamy microscopic world where you control a single glowing mote. Your goal is to grow by absorbing anything smaller than you, but every push forward means ejecting a little of your own matter, which makes you smaller and gives rivals a chance. That simple trade-off turns each level into a careful puzzle of timing and patience. Later stages add orbits around heavy attractors, clever opponents and strange mote types, all set to a calm electronic soundtrack. It is relaxing yet surprisingly tactical, and it runs on almost any PC.

Key Features

  • Grow by absorbing – merge with smaller motes to become bigger.
  • Physics-based movement – eject matter to propel yourself, at the cost of shrinking.
  • Orbital levels – use gravity to slingshot around attractors.
  • Ambient soundtrack – a calm electronic score sets a meditative mood.
  • Very light – runs on almost any Windows PC.
