About Retimed
Retimed is a fast arena shooter for one to four players, developed by Team Maniax and published by Stray Fawn Publishing and WhisperGames. It was released on 5 December 2019 for Windows and macOS. Its central idea is slow motion: whenever a player is in danger, time slows down and a time bubble forms around them, which gives just enough room to react and try to dodge the deadly projectiles heading their way.
Those time bubbles create a constant swing between fast-paced movement and tension-filled slow-motion moments. You dash across the arena, fire at rivals and then suddenly find yourself threading through a cluster of bullets frame by frame. The game is built to be easy to learn and hard to master, so the basic controls click quickly while reading bubbles, timing dashes and forcing opponents into bad positions take far longer to perfect.
Matches can be chaotic team battles or intense fights where every player is on their own. You can play on a single shared screen or over the internet, and search for new opponents around the globe when nobody is nearby. Playing alone is covered too: a dedicated mode sends waves of enemies at you, topped by the hardcore Bulletmaster difficulty for anyone chasing a real test of reflexes.
Eight unique arenas set in a colourful world give each round a different layout, and the surroundings can be used to outplay opponents. Four heroes carry the cast: the constantly sad Bintain, the jolly and clumsy Violet made of a bubblegum-like substance, the masked and mysterious Psycho and the super chill, music-loving Yowie. Expect short, loud rounds in which a single well-timed dodge can decide the winner. It is rated USK 6.
