About Solar 2

Solar 2 is an open-world space sandbox developed and published by Murudai. Steam release date: 17 June 2011.

In most games stars are just the background, but in Solar 2 you are the object itself. You begin as a small asteroid drifting through an infinite, abstract universe and grow by absorbing other rocks until you become a planet, then a star with your own orbiting system, and eventually a black hole. You can play constructively, nurturing life on your planets until it builds fleets that defend your system in large space battles, or destructively, smashing into other objects, flinging planets like wrecking balls and stealing worlds from neighbouring systems. A god-like voice offers a series of odd and varied missions, but you are free to ignore it and simply see how big you can get. The calm music and minimalist visuals make it easy to drop in for a few minutes or an hour.
