About Strange Antiquities
Strange Antiquities is a puzzle adventure developed by Bad Viking and published by Iceberg Interactive, released on 17 September 2025. You are offered the role of Apprentice Thaumaturge at a store dealing in occult antiquities, and the owner asks you to run the shop while he attends to other pressing matters. The work demands a sharp mind and a strong stomach, and a keen eye for detail as you provide the townsfolk with objects for their arcane needs.
The shop sits in Undermere, a quaint and gloomy town on the edge of a grand lake. It might seem unassuming at first, yet it also lies at the edge of our world and the world beyond, and it falls on you to preserve the frayed edge of reality. Every day new customers step into the cosy, candle-lit interior with problems that are unpredictable and often alarming, but never dull, from aching eyes to a creeping dark settling into a house.
To help them you examine, identify and catalogue strange artefacts. Observation, deduction and careful reference to a collection of illustrated tomes are your main tools, and mistakes can be costly. When dealing with powerful items your choices matter: you can solve a problem or curse someone with a horrid affliction, and in a small town people remember your misdeeds. The building itself holds many more puzzles and secrets within its walls.
From time to time you leave the safety of the shop, following hand-drawn maps to investigate rumours or retrieve artefacts. Back home, Jupiter the shop cat demands daily affection. The game offers accessibility options such as save anytime, play without timed input and adjustable text size, and it runs on Windows and macOS with controller support, achievements and trading cards.
