About Struggling

Struggling is a physics-based co-op platformer developed by Chasing Rats Games and published by Frontier Foundry. Steam release: 27 August 2020.

You guide a squishy two-headed creature through a deranged world by moving each of its arms separately. Grab ledges, levers and anything else in sight, swing across gaps, ride a dirt bike and outrun hungry rats. Alone you handle both arms; in local split-screen co-op each player controls one arm, which makes communication essential and every climb hilarious.

Key Features

  • Two-arm control – grab and pull yourself through each level.
  • Couch co-op – one arm per player, shared screen.
  • Physics puzzles – swing, climb and slide past obstacles.
  • Varied set pieces – dirt bike rides and rat chases.
  • Hand-drawn style – a gross but colourful world.

Related Games

Struggling's grab-and-pull movement is closest to Heave Ho, where two to four players cling to walls and to each other to swing their way to the goal. Biped also splits a single body between two players, this time a pair of little robots whose legs are moved one at a time, so it rewards the same patient teamwork. If what you love is fighting clumsy controls for a laugh, Octodad: Dadliest Catch turns everyday chores into slapstick by giving you one floppy limb at a time. Gang Beasts pushes the wobbly physics into party brawling, perfect when your co-op partner is ready to become an opponent.
