DragonSword: Awakening is an anime-style open world action RPG developed and published by Hound13 Inc. and released on 22 July 2026. Lute, a young boy traveling toward Orbis, the first kingdom built by humankind, gets swept up in the lives of Johnny, a mercenary, and Castella, an Elf. Long ago a Dragon brought the continent to the brink of destruction and six Heroes rose to save it, and now, 60 years later, a Dragon has appeared once more.
The Continent of Orbis is a radiant, warmly colored fantasy world built with Unreal Engine 5. You explore it on foot, from beautiful meadows and secret cellars beneath watchtowers to treasure-filled deep seas, hidden caves and dungeons. Trusty allies and adorable collectible companions called Familiars aid you on the road, while Cooking lets you combine ingredients into new dishes and local residents bring problems that you can help solve.
Combat is built around spectacular tag-team action. Each of the 19 Heroes has distinct Status Ailment abilities, so you stack ailments with Active Skills and then chain devastating combos with powerful Signal Skills. Heroes weave in and out of battle through Switching Signals, and you build your own team from diverse combinations. Every character in Orbis, from an eccentric archaeologist Elf to a mysterious girl who traverses dimensions, carries a story of their own.
