About He is Coming

He is Coming is a roguelite RPG auto battler developed by Chronocle and published by Hooded Horse. It was released for Windows on 17 July 2025. Deep in the forgotten corners of the world a dark force stirs, and the Demon King rises once more. Without a champion to strike him down, the world will surely fall to his corruption, so you must sharpen your wits, seek out powerful weapons and artifacts and stand firm in the face of the apocalypse before he arrives.

The structure revolves around time pressure. Every three days a terrifying new minion of the Demon King begins its hunt, drawn from a pool of over 30 potential bosses. You study each monster’s strengths and unique powers and adapt your build accordingly, while exploring the realm in search of the weapons and equipment best suited to defeat this powerful predator. By night, other fell creatures roam the world, so careless exploration can drain your health long before the boss arrives.

With limited time, every decision matters. You might sharpen your blade at hidden ancient forges, pay a high price for rare trinkets from greedy merchants, or seek out mighty armour and magical shields. The challenge is choosing the tools that work best against the enemy hunting you today without sacrificing your preparedness for what comes next, overcoming the guardians of each realm until the Demon King himself finally stands before you at the end of the road.

More than 350 items give you a huge range of strategies and synergies. When hunted by the Razorclaw Grizzly, whose fierce attacks ignore all armour, you may favour maximum health, speed or damage, though lesser monsters will punish an unarmoured hero in a war of attrition. Items that boost speed and attack let you strike first and hard, and a lucky Saffron Feather can turn high speed into healing during battle, rewarding players who plan their builds carefully.

Other bosses demand the opposite approach. The Black Knight absorbs your attack power as his own, so high armour becomes the priority, with Razor Scales armour reflecting damage and enchanted Ruby Earrings inflicting damage every other turn. Even a powerful magical weapon becomes a dilemma, because it may strengthen the Black Knight in the coming fight while aiding you afterwards. Limited inventory space means you must choose wisely and adapt constantly.

Battles themselves resolve automatically, so the real game happens in preparation: where you travel, what you buy, which items you keep and how they interact. Once the main journey is mastered, an asynchronous mode lets you seek out the fallen Demon King’s crown against builds created by other players. Achievements, trading cards and cloud saves add further goals, and the short, tense runs make it easy to start just one more attempt.

He is Coming has very light requirements, needing only 2 GB of RAM and 400 MB of storage on 64-bit Windows 10, and offers full controller support. Text is available in English, Polish, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Czech, Hungarian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Ukrainian and Chinese. For anyone who enjoys clever item synergies, constant tradeoffs and the thrill of racing against a looming threat, it is a sharp and endlessly replayable roguelite.
