About Fae Farm
Fae Farm is a cosy farming and life simulation set on the enchanted island of Azoria. It was developed by Phoenix Labs and released for Windows on 8 September 2023. You board a ship, set sail for the island and arrive at a run-down homestead that slowly becomes your own magical home. Along the way you meet charming characters, foster deep relationships and discover ways to infuse magic into almost everything you do, from tending fields to decorating your house and exploring the wilder corners of the island.
Farming sits at the centre of daily life. You plant and harvest crops in tidy rows, water them, expand your fields and turn the produce into ingredients for recipes and potions. The homestead also has room for a variety of cuddly animals, and caring for them rewards you with eggs, wool and other goods. Baby animals can be raised in many different colours, so even a modest barn quickly fills with personality, and every season brings new reasons to rearrange and improve your land.
Crafting, cooking and potion-making give all of that produce a purpose. Raw materials gathered on the farm and around the island are turned into tools, furniture, meals and magical brews, and mastering each art opens new possibilities. Magical critters roam the island and drop rare potion ingredients, which encourages you to leave the fields and wander. The deeper your knowledge of these crafts becomes, the more you can shape the homestead and support the island community around you.
Adventure is right at your doorstep. Using your skills and spells you traverse the realms of Azoria, forage caves for resources and battle the jumbles, mischievous spirits that block your path and guard valuable materials. As the seasons change you unlock new areas and help restore the world around you, uncovering mysteries and bringing peace back to the island. Combat stays light and approachable, so these excursions feel like a natural extension of farm life without turning into a demanding action game.
The story unfolds independently from the in-game calendar, which means you can play entirely at your own pace. There is no pressure to finish a task before a certain date, so you are free to spend a whole day fishing for ingredients, redecorating or simply chatting with neighbours. Your character is fully customisable, and unlockable styles and decorations for the farm and house let you build exactly the cosy space you want. The developer sums it up simply: the cosier your home, the better your experience.
Azoria is home to a cast of colourful characters, and you can build bonds with many islanders as the story progresses. Relationships deepen through conversations and gifts, and you can even find romance by going on dates and eventually getting married at Town Hall. If you prefer to share the island, up to four players can explore together over local wireless or the internet, building one farm where everyone’s efforts count; internet play requires a free Phoenix Labs account, which is unnecessary for solo sessions.
Fae Farm runs on 64-bit Windows 10 with modest hardware, offers partial controller support and includes text in English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese and Chinese. It carries a PEGI 7 rating and an E10+ rating from the ESRB, making it a gentle choice for children, teenagers and adults alike. With farming, animal care, crafting, cooking, potion-making, exploration, romance and a relaxed story, it offers a warm and varied escape for anyone who loves a peaceful life sim.
