About Harvest Moon: One World
Harvest Moon: One World is a farming and life simulation developed by Natsume together with Appci and published by Natsume. Released for Windows on 7 September 2021, it is an entry in the long-running Harvest Moon series that has followed farmers, villages and seasons for decades. This time the familiar formula moves beyond a single valley. The Harvest Goddess has vanished, the world has lost most of its crop knowledge, and your young farmer sets out on a journey to restore the land and bring the goddess back.
The key idea is travel, and you explore five distinct regions: the wide grasslands of Calisson, the sunny beaches of Halo Halo, the hot desert of Pastilla, the gentle hills of Lebkuchen and the snowy peaks of Salmiakki. Each area has its own climate, villagers, shops and crops. Tiny spirits called Harvest Wisps hold the memory of different seeds, and finding them in hidden spots at the right time unlocks new plants to grow. Coconuts may thrive on the coast while other seeds only appear in the cold mountains.
Your farm comes with you. The Expando-Farm lets you pick up your house and fields and move them to a new region, so you can follow the best soil and the right weather for each crop. Daily life revolves around tilling, planting, watering and harvesting, plus caring for animals such as cows, sheep, goats, camels and even reindeer that you can ride. Products from your fields and barn can be sold, shipped or used for upgrades, tools and requests from the people you meet along the way.
Relationships add another layer. You choose to play as a boy or a girl and can befriend the colourful residents of every town, including five bachelors and five bachelorettes with their own personalities and stories. Building friendship with gifts and conversations leads to heartfelt events and eventually marriage. Bright cel-shaded graphics, a relaxed pace and no harsh failure states make it a friendly game for younger players and newcomers. It is a single-player experience with achievements and partial controller support. The game is rated 0 (USK 0).
