About Hauntsville

Hauntsville is a western horror survival game by Michael Janisch, published by indie.io. As a nameless traveler stranded in an abandoned mountain town of the American frontier, you find the hired hand and the horses gone and something howling in the distance. Creatures drawn from North American folklore stalk the Cursed West, and your iron is all that stands between you and them.

Survival means working the land: chop trees to build a homestead, dig iron in the mines and smith it into tools, hunt animals for food, or risk a trip into the haunted town for supplies. Days are relatively calm and good for exploring, but at nightfall the valley fills with beasts and lasting until dawn becomes the real test.

Dynamic weather keeps every outing uncertain, from sudden downpours that bog you down in mud to blizzards higher up the mountain. Safe places can turn into monster nests and claims can be buried under snow, so no two sessions play out alike. Colts, Winchesters, architecture and clothing are modelled on the period. Note that the game is in English only.
