About Heroes of Science and Fiction
Heroes of Science and Fiction is a turn-based science fiction strategy game developed and published by Oxymoron Games, released on 17 March 2026. The project was previously known as Silence of the Siren. It draws on the classic formula of hero-driven turn-based strategy and moves it into space, where rival space-faring civilizations compete for control of a single, hotly contested star system. Exploration, base management and tactical combat come together in a campaign structure that rewards careful planning.
The setting is the Siren star system, the birthplace of a galactic alliance and the homeworld of the long-lost Primals. For a long time the system has been cut off from the rest of the galaxy, and now several factions arrive to claim it. You explore planets, secure resources and upgrade your bases as you push your influence across the map, then commit your forces to turn-based battles where positioning, unit choice and the right commander ability at the right moment decide the outcome.
There are five playable factions, and each one has its own base, seven upgradeable unit types, a special skill and a roster of commanders. The story is told through four campaigns of four levels each, and thirty skirmish maps provide plenty of standalone battles once the campaigns are complete. Commanders can be developed through twenty-four skills and fifty-four active abilities, and you can equip them with equipment, consumables and artifacts, which lets each faction be played in several different ways.
The GOG version does not include online play, but it supports hotseat and LAN for local matches with friends, and it offers achievements and cloud saves. The game is available for Windows and Linux and supports English, French, German, Spanish, Czech, Polish, Simplified Chinese, Hungarian, Brazilian Portuguese and Russian.
