About Inertial Drift

Inertial Drift is an arcade racing game developed by the independent studio Level 91 Entertainment and published by PQube. Released for Windows on 11 September 2020, it is set in a stylised 90s retro future and builds its entire design around a single idea: drifting should be controlled deliberately, lap after lap.

The handling model separates steering from sliding. The left stick points the car, while the right stick acts as a dedicated drift control that decides how far the rear swings out and how long the slide lasts. New players can learn the basics quickly, yet holding a perfect line through a chain of corners takes real precision.

Each of the 16 cars behaves like its own machine. Sport hatchbacks, coupes and supercars react differently to the drift stick, so some carve tight hairpins while others carry speed through long sweeping bends. Finding the car that suits your style, and then mastering its quirks, is a large part of the long-term appeal.

The tracks are set in bold, distinctive locations. You tear through neon-soaked city streets, race past rural temple complexes, follow coastal roads at sunset and hurtle down winding passes under snow-capped peaks and starry skies. Clean lines, saturated colours and a synth-heavy soundtrack keep the presentation consistent from the first race onwards.

A story mode follows a cast of rival drivers through a series of challenges, and an arcade mode lets you pick any unlocked car and course. Seven event types keep the routine fresh, from standard races and head-to-head duels to time trials, ghost runs and style showdowns that also score how elegantly you slide.

Local split-screen duels let two people share one screen and settle who holds the cleaner drift, and leaderboards record your best times for every course. Ghost data makes it easy to study a faster lap, see exactly where time was lost and try again with a sharper approach to each corner.

Inertial Drift suits anyone who enjoys arcade racers built on skill, stylish retro visuals and the satisfaction of slowly perfecting a difficult technique. Short events make it easy to play a few runs, while the depth of the handling keeps experienced drivers chasing better times for a long while.
