About Size Matters

Size Matters is a puzzle platformer developed by Mazen Games and published by GrabTheGames in March 2021. You take on the role of a scientist who has unintentionally ingested a chemical that causes him to shrink every second. What starts as a normal working day in a tidy laboratory quickly becomes a frantic race against your own body. Every moment counts, because the smaller you get, the harder it becomes to reach the desks, shelves and machines that hold the key to your cure. The goal is simple to explain and tricky to master: make an antidote in a limited time before you shrink completely.

As you shrink, getting around the laboratory gets trickier, and the game essentially turns into a platformer. You figure out ways to climb onto benches, cabinets and shelves where the equipment and ingredients are located, often stacking or moving objects to build your own path. You search the lab for ingredients and formulas, and every formula is tied to one of the machines in the room. Following each recipe accurately lets you produce new ingredients, which may be used in other formulas or become one of the three key components you need. Planning ahead matters, since a shelf that is easy to reach now may be far too high a minute later.

The laboratory is full of equipment to operate, including the Chemical Processor, The Reverter, the Code Combiner and the Antidote Producer. Your time is very precious, so you process ingredients while you hunt for missing components or rearrange the lab so you can still reach things when you are smaller. Once you collect all three key ingredients, you place them inside the Antidote Producer to create the cure. When you shrink too small, the game is over, which keeps every run tense and rewards clever routes. The bright, detailed lab looks completely different from each new height, turning familiar rooms into towering obstacle courses.

Size Matters also lets you tweak all kinds of settings, such as the height at which you start, how many double jumps you can do and how long the Chemical Processor takes to finish its work. That makes it easy to create a relaxed experiment or a brutal challenge. The game includes fifty seven achievements and cloud saves for your progress. The game runs on Windows 7, 8.1 or 10 (32 or 64-bit) and supports English, German, Spanish (Spain and Latin America), Czech, Polish, Portuguese (Portugal and Brazil), Russian, Simplified Chinese, Italian, Turkish, Greek, Japanese, Korean and French, all with full audio. The minimum setup calls for a quad core 2.6 GHz processor, 4 GB of RAM, an Nvidia GTX 650 Ti 2 GB or AMD Radeon HD 7970 3 GB, DirectX 11 and 4 GB of storage, so this compact lab adventure runs well on many older and mid range computers.
