About Long Gone Days
Long Gone Days is a JRPG by This I Dreamt, published by Serenity Forge in October 2023. Set in the real world, it is about human connection during war, focusing on civilians, language barriers and borders. You follow Rourke, a young man trained from birth to be a sniper for The Core, a subterranean paramilitary state, who is sent to the surface on his first mission and discovers The Core is far from the noble organisation he believed in.
Intense RPG combat contrasts with slower slice-of-life gameplay. Recruit interpreters to communicate across language barriers, grow relationships with a colourful cast and choose dialogue wisely to keep morale high in battle. Spot and take down targets from afar in Sniper Mode or fight up close in front-view, turn-based combat, targeting specific body parts. There are no random encounters: every battle is hand-crafted and tied to the plot.
