About Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix
Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix is an arcade kart racer that gathers the biggest crowd of Nickelodeon characters ever put into one racing game. It was developed by Bamtang Games, published by GameMill Entertainment and released on PC in December 2020. You pick from 30 playable racers, including SpongeBob SquarePants, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the babies from Rugrats, the kids from Hey Arnold!, Ren and Stimpy, Lincoln Loud and his sisters, and JoJo Siwa.
The heart of the game is the Grand Prix. You race through a series of cups on tracks themed around famous shows, from Bikini Bottom to sewer tunnels, haunted mansions and bright theme parks. Slime is everywhere: it fills boost pads, splashes across the road and powers your special moves. Winning races and cups unlocks more than 80 upgrades for your kart, so the car you drive at the end of the season feels very different from the one you started with.
What makes this sequel stand out is the pit crew. Besides the 30 drivers there are 70 crew members, and each one brings a unique power. You assemble a team that boosts attack, defence or pure fun, then combine it with your racer and kart parts. With tens of thousands of possible combinations, you can build a cautious, defensive driver for younger players or an aggressive setup that fires item after item at the leader. Experimenting with crews quickly becomes part of the fun.
The game is made for sharing. Up to four players can race on one screen in local split-screen, with a controller needed for each extra player, and up to eight can compete online. Arena challenges add short, chaotic battles away from the racing line. The colourful cartoon style, simple controls and familiar faces make it easy for kids to pick up, while the item timing and crew builds give older players something to master. There are 27 achievements to collect. The game is rated 12.
