About Staxel
Staxel is a creative farming and village life game developed by the Australian studio Plukit and fully released in 2019. You arrive as the newest resident of a small, budding village and take over a run-down farmhouse with land that the wilderness has reclaimed. Your task is to restore the farm to its former glory and help the village grow along the way. The world is built from colorful voxel blocks, which gives the game a cheerful, toy-like look and lets you reshape almost everything around you. It is a gentle, cozy experience with no pressure and plenty of freedom.
Farming is the heart of daily life. You clear weeds and rocks, till the soil, buy seeds and plant a wide variety of crops that need watering and care as they grow. Harvests can be sold for money, which you invest in better tools, more seeds and new buildings. Farm animals such as chickens, cows and sheep can be raised, and pets keep you company. Seasons change the landscape and the crops you can grow, so planning ahead pays off. Take care of your farm, and your farm will take care of you.
Beyond the fields there is a lot to do. The village is full of quirky characters with their own shops, wishes and daily tasks, and helping them builds friendship and unlocks new quests, structures and items. Reaching the highest friendship level with a villager even lets them move in as your roommate. In your spare time you can pursue hobbies such as fishing, catching bugs and filling collections, or head into the wilds to explore.
