About Syberia
Syberia is a story-driven adventure game developed and published by Microids, available for Windows since 19 May 2011. You join Kate Walker as she travels to remote locations and time periods in a timeless voyage to discover her true destiny. The game focuses on exploration, conversation and thoughtful puzzle solving, presented through detailed and realistic 3D environments and film-like camera angles, movements and framing that give every scene the feel of a carefully composed shot.
Kate Walker is a young, ambitious lawyer from New York who is handed what seems a fairly straightforward assignment: a quick stopover to handle the sale of an old automaton factory hidden in the alpine valleys, then straight back home to the US. Little did she imagine when embarking on this task that her life would be turned upside down. What begins as routine paperwork soon becomes a much larger journey, and the deal she sets out to sign turns into a pact with destiny.
On her expedition across Europe, travelling from Western Europe to the far reaches of Eastern Russia, Kate encounters a host of incredible characters and locations in her attempt to track down Hans, the genius inventor and the final key to unlock the mystery of Syberia. Her voyage across land and time throws everything she values into question. The rich, intriguing characters and the gripping script carry the adventure forward from one striking destination to the next.
Original and creative puzzles are completely integrated into the scenario, so solving them always moves the story forward and keeps the pace flowing. The adventure is played solo, and full voice acting is included in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Polish and Russian, with Japanese text as well. Modest system requirements mean it runs on a wide range of Windows machines. It is rated USK 0.
