About The Black Grimoire: Cursebreaker
The Black Grimoire: Cursebreaker is a fantasy RPG developed and published by Olipa Games. Steam release date: 27 October 2024.
You play Rothar Aercrest, the cursed former lord of the remote woodlands of Imberthale, caught in a feud between two powerful mages. Explore a large open world, talk to its people and take on quests about petty grudges, revenge and greed rather than world-ending doom. Every action trains a skill, from melee and archery to spellcasting and woodcutting, while permanent choices and a single save make each decision count.
Key Features
- Open world – explore Imberthale freely.
- Skill-based growth – level up by doing.
- Spells and crafting – gather ingredients, forge gear.
- Permanent choices – no reloading old saves.
- Player houses – a home to customise.

Related Games
Cursebreaker borrows a lot from the old Gothic games: a rough medieval world, no hand-holding and choices that stick, which is exactly what Gothic 1 Remake rebuilds from scratch. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered share the idea that you get better at what you actually do, in far bigger worlds, and Divine Divinity GOG.COM Key Global offers the same old-school mix of quests, crafting and secrets from an earlier era.
