Beneath the mining town of Torchlight lies Ember, a mysterious ore with the power to enchant and corrupt. Choose the Destroyer, the Vanquisher or the Alchemist and descend through randomised dungeon floors full of monsters, traps and treasure. Fast, click-to-fight combat, skill trees, enchanting and socketed gems let you shape your build, while your dog or cat companion fights beside you and can even run back to town to sell loot. Fishing turns your pet into stronger forms, and after the story an endless shaft keeps the adventure going. Created by veterans of the genre, it is a compact, accessible dungeon crawler that still holds up.
