About Transport Fever

Transport Fever is a railroad-focused tycoon game developed by the Swiss studio Urban Games and released in 2016. You start in the year 1850 as a young transport entrepreneur and build a thriving company by connecting towns and industries that need transport services. Stations, depots, airports and harbors are yours to place, and every line you open earns money once passengers and goods start moving. Over more than 150 years of transport history, your network grows from simple early locomotives and horse carts into a modern system of high-speed trains, airliners and container ships.

The building tools are the heart of the game. Laying track and roads is intuitive, yet the system is deep enough for bridges, tunnels, signals, junctions and complex terminal stations. Over 120 detailed vehicles are available, including trains, aircraft, ships, buses, trams and trucks, each modeled on real designs from Europe and North America. Vehicles age, need replacing and can be painted in your own colors. Stations and airports can be upgraded as demand rises, so a sleepy rural halt can slowly turn into a busy hub serving thousands of travelers every year.

The economy is simulated in detail. Every town has residents who travel to work, shops and leisure, and cities grow and change shape based on how well you serve them. Industries need raw materials and produce goods, so you create complete cargo chains, carrying coal and iron ore to a steel mill and then delivering finished products to towns that want them. Profit depends on efficient routes, good timing and choosing the right vehicle for each job. Randomly generated, editable terrains with realistic dimensions provide fresh maps for every game.

Two play styles are on offer. The endless mode lets you build freely on large maps at your own pace, while the European and American campaigns contain many historical missions with growing difficulty, telling stories from the 19th and 20th centuries. More than 25 achievements and broad mod support add lasting value. Physically based graphics and lighting bring the landscapes to life. The GOG version runs on 64-bit Windows. It is an excellent pick for fans of classic transport tycoon games, model railway lovers and anyone who enjoys planning efficient networks.
