Cities: Skylines is a city-building simulation developed by Colossal Order and published by Paradox Interactive. Steam release date: 10 March 2015.
Starting from a patch of land beside a highway, you lay out roads, zone residential, commercial and industrial areas and connect water, power and sewage, then watch citizens move in. As the population grows you unlock new services and buildings, from schools, hospitals and fire stations to parks, landmarks and monuments, and plan public transport with buses, metro, trams and trains to keep traffic flowing. Districts let you set local policies such as smoke bans or high-tech housing, and the budget keeps you balancing taxes against the needs of a growing city. Map tiles let your city expand across huge areas, and Steam Workshop mods and custom assets add almost endless variety.
